Advantages:

1-Treatment of any disease in any body organ by replacing the damaged and dysfunctional cells.

2-The risk of immunological rejection is eliminated because the patient own genetic material is used.
(If the cells were created from another individual the body of the patient eould be mor likely to rcognize the foreign proteins and attack the transplanted cells)

Therapeutic cloning has the potential to reduce the wait times for organ transplants as well as immunological concerns associated with organ transplanted therapy

Disadvantages:

1-The stability of the egg with the infused somatic nucleuse is poor and it require hundred of attemps before sucess is obtained.

2-Result in the destruction of the embryo after the extraction of the stem cells and this destruction creats controversy over the morality of the procedure

3-The similarities between the stem cells and the cancer cells, both have the ability to poliferate indefinitely and some studies show that after 60 cycles of cell division , stem cells accumulate mutations that could lead to cancer ,so, the relationship between cancer cells and stem cells must be understood if stem celld are to be used to treat human diseases.
